Earrings: Trilobite Fossil Studs in Patina White Copper with Arkansas Quartz, Lapis and Emerald Drops, Sterling Posts
White copper naturally ages with vibrant turquoise patina. I love how it brings out the lighter blue-green tones in the faceted lapis and emerald pieces that swing with the Arkansas quartz points. A comfortable fit with sterling silver posts. These are castings from a beautiful trilobite impression I found at home in Arkansas. And, of course, quartz points from a crystal dig at Mount Ida, Arkansas.
I work in metal clay, both bronze and sterling silver. Sometimes I integrate copper too. It’s an awe-inspiring process that begins as a lump of boring-looking clay. And after shaping, kiln-firing and metalsmithing, it emerges as a stunning precious metal adornment.
