Waves and ripples, temporary forms made from both repetitive and arbitrary patterns. Waves and raindrops are my inspiration for these water sculptures in sterling silver. The front side is patterned with 22K gold-accented raindrops on the surface of a gentle silver current, and the back supports the flow of water in a structural brick and mortar. pattern, like an ancient city street under a June downpour.
I work in metal clay, both bronze and sterling silver. It’s an awe-inspiring process that begins as a lump of boring-looking clay. And after shaping, kiln-firing and metalsmithing, it emerges as a stunning precious metal adornment.
Each earring is 6g of solid sterling silver kiln-fired with 22K gold accents and hung from an oversized sterling French hook.
